AFC Referee of the Year 2014 nominee Alireza Mohammad Faghani has been appointed referee for the AFC Asian Cup 2015 final between host nation Australia and Korea Republic at Stadium Australia on Saturday.

FFIRI- The match will be the 37-year-old Iranian’s sixth appointment at the 2015 Asian Cup, having opened his account by officiating the Saudi Arabia versus China clash on January 10.
Three days later Faghani refereed the Group A match between Kuwait and Korea Republic before overseeing the Iraq versus Japan game on January 16.
Faghani then refereed the quarter-final between Japan and the UAE before going on to work as the fourth official in the semi-final clash between Korea Republic and Iraq.
An international referee since 2008, Faghani also officiated at the FIFA World Cup 2014 and during the AFC Champions League 2014 competition, including the first leg of the final.
Faghani will be helped at the Asian Cup final by Iranian assistant referees Reza Ibrahim Sokhandan and Mohammadreza Hossein Abolfazli as well as fourth official Fahad Adwan M Al Mirdasi of Saudi Arabia.
